Liane Webb discussing plans for Sompting Community Farm and Nature Trail
Our partnership with Sompting Estate is giving us the opportunity to take people who find it hard to access to South Downs National Park, right into the heart of the South Downs.
Our Sussex Chilli Farm project is moving to Sompting Estate, giving us the space to grow in new tunnels and greenhouses at various locations on the estate.
We have been co-creating a vision for Sompting Community Farm and Nature trail with Sompting Estate and the public which will support Sompting and our wider communities through engagement in a broad variety of activities. We have gained funding from The Rampion Fund at Sussex Community Foundation which will enable us to consult further with our community and carry this exciting project forward.
The land where we propose to create Sompting Community Farm contains flushed fen, a rare and protected wetland area which provides a home for rare plants and insects and offers great opportunities for environmental education, pond dipping and research.
Our consultation for Sompting Community Farm is now open, so we would really appreciate your help and input please! We have a survey here which takes about 10 minutes to complete or you could get in touch using the link below if you would like to discuss ideas in more detail.
